Northalsted Halloween Parade 2011

Highlights from this year's Northalsted Halloween Parade.

As far as I'm concerned, the best part was the fire-eaters and the fire dancers.

Best costume: Judge James Shapiro, for sheer chutzpah. He was the only elected official to appear in this year's parade. Best costume no-show: Rahm Emanuel as Ebenezer Scrooge. Or the Grinch. Well, you voted for him because he was tough. Remember that when you're paying your water bill and your city sticker, and paying more for every city service there is. The out-of-control TIF program and aldermanic menus were never even touched, but they're cutting the hours at public libraries. Meet the new mayor...

Thank you to drunk blond lady for the continual screaming and unintentional narration. And yes, Halloween is much more fun when you can actually remember events the next day. And can edit 22 minutes of footage down to 12:30 without a hangover :D Cheaper too. ($8 for a six-pack of beer!? I'll drink a glass of water and ACT drunk.)
