Within Darkness You Are Light

Late christmas present is late. Deal with it.

The holidays make you want to be with the people you love. Even if you're not into the religious aspect of the holidays - the concept of family and friends - they go hand in hand. This Christmas I found myself wishing to be with you more than anyone. I wanted to hang out with you and give you that hug I've been oweing you for who knows how long now. Someday we will make this happen. I promise. I'll find a way to bring us together if it is the last thing I do - because a life where we never get that chance doesn't sound like much at all.

When you found me I was in such a bad place in my life. Jamie was gone and everything was in shambles. I didn't know how to cope. I didn't know how to trust anyone anymore, and I feared I would never trust another person again. When you were depressed for several months I grieved with you. I stayed with you those nights and I did my best to defend you from one of the people who had been hurting you so badly. When you cried I cried with you, and I hope that I was able to help you the way that you have me.

More than anything you have taught me how to love again, and how to allow myself to be loved again in return. I don't think it's quite possible for me to put exactly how much I care for you into words - all the words I think of just do not seem to suffice. You have pushed through every barrier I have surrounded myself with. You've seen the worst parts of me: The shameful, the bitterness, the darkness, and you have never looked away. You just keep on smiling - always there to listen and to raise my spirits. I hope that I will someday be able to make it up to you - and I hope I am worthy of such a wonderful friendship. You are more than my best friend. You are my brother and I can't imagine where I would be right now without you. I wouldn't want to, and I want you to know that I will always be here. We are best friends. No matter what you ever do - no matter what you ever say - I'll be right here - Ready to listen as you have for me and always eager to help in any way I can. I will never leave you and I will always love you.

The darkness spills in as a poison,
gripping my blood and boiling.
Bane. Blight. Was that all I was?
A venom coursing through innocent pact?
Far away, another feels the same.
Suffering in twin trouble as I.
Alone now to take faulty blame,
the shade lies, forbidding me to cry
Suddenly, a Hero calls beyond the reach,
Cloaked in the same cimmerian shade as I.
Dawn and Dusk, light begins to breach,
A glimmer of hope now hovers in the sky.

A conquering storm howls over fire,
Subsiding, a new hope, my desire.
the traveller and I brace the squall.
Only this one had heard the call.
