Sea gardens for sale

The present study has been conducted within the framework of an environmental education project. Its final product is a short-length, 10-minute film with a script that highlights the ecological and economic value of algae. Most of the scenes were shot in the Benthic Ecology & Technology Lab of Fisheries Research Institute, Nea Peramos, Kavala, Greece, as well as in the coastal area of Eleftheres Bay, Kavala Gulf.
The learning objectives for the students were
•To become aware of the need to protect the marine environment
•To experience observing a marine ecosystem
•To be able to conduct and record basic measurements of biotic and abiotic parameters
•To familiarize themselves with a Marine Biology laboratory and instruments
•To consider the potential economic exploitation of a non-exploited endemic natural resource
The theoretical underpinnings of the study relate to experiential education and cooperative learning. These underlie the implementation of the project and its specific tasks, namely, screenplay writing, film directing and music editing.
