Princess Anne visits HMS Collingwood

As Private Kelle Denham made her way nervously to meet Princess Anne, she couldn't help laughing as son Shay tugged at her uniform.
It prompted smiles all round, and even a giggle from the Princess Royal herself, who was presenting the 25-year-old, from Fareham, with a medal for serving in Sierra Leone.

The mum-of-three served in HMS Glasgow on a mercy mission to the war-torn west African country in 2000 and saw first-hand the devastation civil war had caused.

As reward for her service Private Denham, who now works for the Military Provost Guard Service, collected her accolade from the Princess Royal at HMS Collingwood.
