Are these overkill for music listening while on a plane or bus??? If sovwhat is a better investment?

@MrShnuggleMuffins If this situation is the main or only situation under which you use headphones, then perhaps another route is best, but not because the M50 are overkill, but because there are models better suited for portability and noise attenuation. If in the same price bracket and want a similar balanced sound (although not identical), look into the in-ear Etymotic HF2, or the Active Noise cancelling ATH-ANC7B.

Hey, great review, but i gotta ask - so i like hiphop, and some dubstep - but i also like rock alot.
I like bass, but i heard theese have good bass without overpowering the highs/mids - do you think these would be good for me?
Oh yeah - and i LOVE the look of these, i think looks are a big deciding factor for me as well because i will probably use these in public.

@Lithium2600 The M50's will suite you well then. The are well balanced, which is a great fit if you have a wide range of tastes and only plan to buy one headphone.
