  • @AmbrielCharms I doubt you uttered such nonsense when Bush won.

  • CAN I TAKE PATERNITY LEAVE NOW?

  • @OkieSlims

And he stayed on vacation for eight years. I would lol, but it is not funny to me.

  • She worked in a tire plant, she's a woman tires are heavy. Notice how it was not mentioned whether she did the same amount of work as her male colleauges. This is about equality of outcome not equality pay based on work.

Women take more days off than men, which could also affect pay.

In other words this law deserves to repealed.

The worst form of inequality is to try to make unequal things equal.

  • EXACTLY! BY the way, I meant to say, following "--and had to be pushed aside--So I can appreciate, and DO see your viewpoint!=) ..sorryboutthat!x)

p.s. Yes, thanks, and thanks to Buzz, a clinic tech, {NOT a fire dept. employee!}, we ALL did get out safely!

  • yes, equal pay ONLY for equal work.....thankfully you got out ok and can share your circumstances with others!

  • Unfortunate it hasn't advanced in the 20-some years since I experienced a horrifying incident, at a dialysis clinic, back in 1985ish. A fire alarm went off, and we had to be evacuated. The fire dept. came, including a 90 lb. 5, {barely!}, foot tall, joke of a firegirl was trying to maneuver a man in a wheelchair, WELL over 200 LBS, DOWN the flight of STAIRS!--and had to be pushed aside!--SHE should have been FIRED ON SITE!

Be that as it may, women should still receive equal pay for EQUAL WORK!

  • yes, but unfortunately many times these prereqs and tests are overlooked. it even happens in our military basic training, law enforcement and firehalls.

  • That's why they have prerequisites, and aptitude tests, {including height, and weight requirements}, whether you're a man or woman, for many jobs, especially jobs requiring such strengths.
