  • @onlyinajeep9740 Actually, the oil filter is top mounted so you don't have to lift the car or remove the sound deadening panel or replace the oil drain plug with a new one. Makes sense to me...

  • ok this is really stupid! you are getting even less oil out then you would by pulling the drain plug, and you still have to go under the car to change the filter. That is a horrible idea.

  • This is working smarter not harder.... I would annually change my oil traditionally maybe once a year but for the most part I own the topside and it easy.

Think of it this way; if you watch race cars and when they drive in the pit, nothing is done traditionally because its advance tools.

We need to start doing more advance methods for servicing our cars.

Just don't hate on innovational if your a traditional.

  • i rather do it manually but it depends on the weather..

  • what happened to using gravity and getting under a car and changing the oil?

  • take the plug out and see how much more oil comes out this dont do justice

  • I would never change the oil this way even if it´s easier, cleaner, faster. etc.

Gravity will do a better job at draining -all- the oil plus metal chips from the engine than this method.

  • @timothy1573 Depends on your car. Mercedes, BMW and others have the oil filter under the hood. I change mine with an electric extractor that connects to the battery and unscrew the old and screw on the new filter. Whole process takes under 10 minutes and Mercedes dealer wants to charge over $100. Here is my video.

  • Um, don't you have to lift it for the oil filter?
