I nodded and he left upstairs and soon came back with a guitar that I had no idea he had. Nick sat down on the arm of the couch and tossed me a notebook.

Nick: pick a song

I looked through each page and I didnt know which to choose

Ashly: well which one is about me?

I gave him a cheesy smile and he raised his eyebrows.

Nick: what makes you think I wrote a song about you?

I gave him a look of come on. He sighed and looked down while lightly blushing.

Nick: all of the love songs are about you.

Aww how sweet! Hmm well which one?

Ashly: what song do you request?

He grabbed the book from my hands and flipped to a page that was titled one day at a time. He started to strum his guitar and soon began to sing.


Wednesday I came home from school
Did my homework in my room
Then i watched some TV, I still miss you

Got to school at half past nine
Wound up in detention, I still miss you

He stopped playing and looked at me with tears in his eyes.

Nick: I wrote this a while after what happened

I knew what he meant by what happened. I stared at him with watery eyes. That song was beautiful and so sad. I cant believe I did that to him. Ugh! Now Im a jerk. I got up and hugged him. We both were crying and hearing him cry made me cry 10 times harder.

Ashly: Im *sob* so *sob* s-s-sorry Ahh!

He rubbed my back and held me tight. The minutes went by and the crying ceased. I looked at him and leaned in. I kissed him gently and pulled away. He smiled at me and we sat down on the couch to watch some TV.
