"I'm Rick Perry, and I'm a loathsome maggot-shit fascist..." God help us if any of these fucking republicans retain control of the senate after next year. Do you morons understand that these delusional lunatics are out to destroy this country? This economic collapse has been engineered and is being carried out with the help of our own "Supreme Court"? You will get it when you're in prison, or working for $3 a day like the republicans want. "Oh yeah, NOW I get it..." Wake up retards!

@Curas1 grace - noun
1.elegance or beauty of form, manner, motion, or action
2.a pleasing or attractive quality or endowment
3.favor or goodwill
4.a manifestation of favor, especially by a superior
5.mercy; clemency; pardon
I understand the religious connotations, but I try to live my life with grace and dignity even though I'm an atheist. It's as simple as being a good member of society.

@FlamingAlchemist7 Did you know that in the USA in the 21st century, people are getting pissed because their religiously sponsored company is now required to offer health care which includes BIRTH CONTROL!!!??? I'm pretty sure Jesus never said anything about Yaz or the NuvaRing, yet we still have to hear this ridiculous shit! Religion affects people. How people perceive their Bible affects people.

@AssistingHealth this is how a bilingual conversation would go. "hey jew, did you go pray to zeus today?" jew: "oh, yeah, and i gave my sacrement to yahweh also."
saying that yahweh and zeus are 2 different entities is like saying your "dad" and "father" and "padre"(spanish) are 3 different people.
obvious nonsense.
-
@AssistingHealth basically, here is how it goes. in the hebrew parts of the bible (mostly the OT, from what i have heard) yahweh = a "god". yahweh was another word for zeus.
so, there ya go. that's how it supposedly goes.
-
@MyGrammarRules most christians don't know that very little of what they think about the bible is true. very little of "god" is involved. yahweh in hebrew is god, and, usually "lord" means a literal lord, like... "The Lord of South Cunningham", or something like that. a non-deity figure. yet, it's interpreted well over 90% of the time as "divine".
they're just making things up. nobody said that... ever.
and the bible is more like an encyclopedia than a book. ever tried to read it? jeez.
-
@MyGrammarRules the data and a little bit of basic observation has shown me that atheist cultures AND people(s) are more likely to fit that definition than most practicing christians. at least, in my experiences. i'm very extroverted and personable... so we're talking hundreds and hundreds that i know intimately, yet, non-sexually.

@Curas1 humanitarianism, usually.

@LiquidTokyo You're not doing the liberal cause very well by sounding like a deranged conspiracy theorist

sitting on a lawn chair petting your dogie ? :p
Ron Paul is the only real republican running that actually has the concerns of the American PEOPLE instead of the concerns of his paycheck. Rick Perry shouldn't even be in the running if he can't even look up basic facts about the American Constitution and keep his faith to himself

Curas1 2 months ago
@Curas1 Excellent question. Of course the answer to "What is the agnostic path to grace?" is "I dunno."
