We now go from STAR WARS to STAR TREK. Gear up for that Vulcan mind meld! And set your phasers on fun! This captain's log covers our thoughts on the first four flicks: Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and Star Trek: The Voyage Home.

We'll continue with the rest of the films in the next episode, so stay tuned!

  • As always very entertaining and I am looking forward to part II. Are you guys going to do all the Trek films or just the original series ones (I-VI)?

  • We'll be covering the entire series, including the newest one. It should be uploaded very soon.

  • Loved the episode even though I am not a trek fan!

  • Thank you. We decided to nerd it out for the last couple of tapings as we got some requests for Star Wars and Star Trek, so we decided to do them back to back to get them out of the way; however, it was a fun subject to tackle and edit, especially the opening credits.

  • love u guys and your videos! I always look forward to each new one.

  • Thank you. Expect a lot more to come. We'll be posting some exclusive content on the blog, so check it out.

  • Sonak was killed in the transporter. Kirk is talking to him before the transporter scene. The actor who played Xon was killed on the Space Station in STTMP as a scientist character when VGer assimilates it.

  • Entertaining discussion. However i want to point out that taking inflation at the box office into this. The ST:TMP grossed more at the box office then the Voyage Home.

  • wtf are u idiots doing wearing hats indoors?

  • The new series was to be called Star Trek 2. The Character of XON was to replace Spock. However they killed Xon in the first movie in a transporter accident.

  • You guys are on crack! Star Trek III was the best of the series in many ways. It was all about friendship. Kirk blows EVERYTHING for his friend! Christopher Lloyd was actually a pretty good villain too.

  • Such a good show. I wish I had more film fanatic friends.

  • Actually, Leonard Nimoy wasn't going to be on the "Phase II" series because of legal differences he had w/ Paramount at the time (I believe over marketing). In Spock's place would've been a Vulcan character named Xon.

  • Actually, the Decker character (played by Stephen Collins of "7th Heaven" fame) was there as mainly a surrogate captain just in case William Shatner asked for too much money after the initial 13 episode order of "Phase II".

  • The Star Trek movies weren't that good, STMP was terrible Star Trek 2 was OK(but hollywoodish lightweight and melodramatic). ST 3 was boring. ST4 was fun, but light weight. ST5 was REALLY BAD!!!! And the only other won what was fun(Baut also light weight) was the one with the Borg. The last ST was forgettable and I forgot it 5 minutes after I walked out of the theater.

  • I disagree strongly with these guys about Star Trek 3 BEING unforgetable I think these guys don't realise the true essence of what the film is about is FRIENDSHIP and what would you do for you friend, the actions that you would take and the price you are willing to pay to help a friend. To me Star Trek 3 is the most personal of a the trek movies and one of the best so you guys are wrong very wrong
