Kissing Cousins Again

That's why I like to watch animes again now :) Because when I was younger I didn't understand the most things and jokes. I THOUGHT I would understand it, but NOW I realize what is going on. And when I think about animes like "Detective Conan", I'm wondering now why I was so unimpressed. I mean there is blood, people die, cruel ways of murdering people etc. Animes aren't just for children, definitely.

Oh, so that was the reason Sailor Stars never made it to the US? Man, if that's the case, then it seems that Toei is just as culpable as those two English companies that put an excessive amount of episodes of Sailor Moon on the chopping block by deciding to end the show prematurely by withholding the series. It seems that the events that occured within Sailor Stars may forever remain a mystery. :-(

And then they're all like: Fuck. How many times have I told you not to die, Usako? How many times? Then Rei, Minako, Chibiusa, Ami, and everyone else will take turns trying to bring her back or slap her when she actually is reincarnated. You're all gonna make us worry, Usagi? Stop dying, please. For your girls, Mamoru, the fandom, etc.

Don't forget Shinji Ikari in Neon Genesis Evangelion. Oh, and Sailor Moon's seiyuu Kotono Mitsuishi, voiced Misato Katsuragi in that series. Spoiler alert: Misato IS an adult Usagi, appearance and personality confirms it. As do the producers, who worked on both series when Sailor Moon was still going strong.

Lol. If you like her voice in this, go watch Neon Genesis Evangelion, Same seiyuu for lead by the name of Shinji Ikari, who looks like the titular character from an anime called Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, but is actually a boy with some serious Freudian complexes and then some. He also has two mothers, one who's his biological but died and had her soul imparted to him by his father, the other his best friend and one of three clones. Ended this world.

Same with Pokemon and about half of the other shows dubbed by 4kids. To the average American, anime just looks like some stupid kids shows that Japan uses to mooch off of Western consumers and their kids. And all the old farts can't stand any cartoons with too much adult content. It's gotten better over the years, with South park, Family Guy, anime, hell people who had negative cynical opinions are trying to change their minds albeit a decade or two too late IMO XP

Blame Toei too. When they saw the success of the show in America as a kids show for what it supposedly was to its first Western fans, they decided to mooch off of that. So, when everyone asked for Sailor Stars to be released and dubbed, they said no, because it was too dark and it wasn't really Sailor Moon. Funny how the Japanese can be portrayed as so polite and cute and then act like obnoxious businessmen when it comes to Western consumer interests, especially w/ anime.XP

Or that friendship and love towards your family and enemies is one of the true things that will save this world. If we experienced an apocalypse of any kind, I'd like it to be similar to the animes we watch, and not just some Christian apocalypse from the book of Revelations. Xp Meh, I've only seen two eps dubbed, going for the rest of the series subbed, but I don't mind the name changes, actually.

Yeah, and not to mention some people might consider all of the Sailor Senshi sisters for some reason, because they get reincarnated together and kind of look alike. Oh, and God forbid somebody calls one of the fanon/semi-canon popular yuri pairings in this series because of that. This is pretty much why the rest of the world hates us, for our bigotry and dense mentality. Then again, they have these weaknesses as well, albeit in different more subtle ways. XP

Your right. The majority of animes our generation has been exposed too are not for children, at least by American standards. Japan, well, the fine line between shonen and seinen and shoujo and seinen befuddles me. So kids around 10 can start watching this stuff, where in America, parents wouldn't want their children to see an unedited classic original version because it's too dark. Is Japan's youth more mature than ours? Btw. This series, is ANYTHING BUT A KIDS SHOW.
