Bath House So Sweet (Babylove & the van Dangos' Tribute to Sjællandsgade Bad)

[Text follows in English] Sjællandsgade Bad var et fantastisk sted, hvor lokale, rige som fattige, kunne bade og mødes for at tale sammen. Det var som sådan en vigtigt del af samfundslivet. 17. september 2010 besluttede Københavns Kommunes Borgerrepræsentation effektivt at lukke badet ved at skære dets finansiering bort.

Babylove & the van Dangos optog en del af denne sang (og hele videoen) på stedet under et sidste brusebad. Det er vores håb, at Københavns Kommune genovervejer, at have lukket for det varme vand til det lokale kulturliv og vil arbejde sammen med Sjællandsgade Bad om at genåbne faciliteterne.

English:

The public bath house in Sjællandsgade, Copenhagen was a wonderful place where locals, rich and poor, would come to bathe and talk. As such it was an important part of civic life. On September 17, 2010, the City Coucil effectively decided to close it down by cutting its funding completely.

Babylove & the van Dangos recorded part of this song (and the whole video) in the bath house, taking one last shower there. It is our hope that City Coucil will reconsider cutting the water and the heat from the local cultural life and work with Sjællandsgade Bad to reopen the facilities.
