  • I also agree that Jean-Baptiste's version is much better. Vienna boys of cos is perfect, but too perfect, almost like a bit robotic. JB's and PCSM is far more "human", like speaking to you a little story. And of cos, JB's voice is just like a little angel, where you can only hear in heaven, never on earth.

    Really miss JB's angelic voice...

  • fantastic, i love Les Petits Chanteurs de Saint-Marc and obviously JBM, but you can tell that this version is harder to sing. This boy clearly has more training. Yes PCSM version is more sweet and touching, but you can not say is better, both are amazing.

  • @lizaandwaffle ... and the interpretation by Ferdinand Jankowitsch - see the video response ???

  • @XxfireblastxX "No one is complete sure" - you are so right ! You like boys´choirs too ? Let me invite you to visit my channel...:)

  • @Hahnimkorb100 I TOO learned (am still learning :P) Latin and I'm taught to pronounce "c"'s as "K"'s and AE is ai and stuff like that. Church Latin is indeed with a sort of Z/Ch but I was taught that in ancient Latin they pronounced it as a K. But of course no one is complete sure :)

  • I love the song, but this rendition has such abrupt cut offs (especially by the soloist). Sometimes I want to say "you've got to be able to hold that note if you're gonna be the best singer in the supposed best boy choir in the world." ~former choir boy member.

  • it's pleasing to listen in this music if he perform it in lighter sound.

  • beautiful <3

  • I guess nobody knows how exactly the Romans pronounced words but I think you are probably right about the different words beeing pronounced differently.

I'm pretty sure the German word Kaiser comes from the Latin word Caesar because if you pronounce the C like a K and the A and the E separatly it sounds just like the German word Kaiser.

  • ...delend a m naturally. I hate such mistakes.

    My best wishes from Germany.

Am I allowed to recommend my channels wskfan,

    wskfanclever and Toelzerfanclever ?

  • @veronica

I also learned Latin in school in Hamburg and

our teachers told us to pronounce the "c" as a "z" not as a "s" or a "k"...:)

Would you pronounce Caesar as Kaesar ?

Indeed the highest king in German is - better - was the: "Kaiser"...

Or what is with Cicero = "Kikero"? And with "Cetero censeo Carthaginem esse delendem".?

The more thinking about that problem

I guess that the old Romans pronounced different words with "c" differently (?).

    "Censorship" in German "Zensur" !
