PERKINS PIECING SEAM GUIDE is the bomb! Use it in conjunction with tape or moleskin and VOILA! Don't use the dritz seam guide on computerized machines because the magnet will probably screw up the computer. Just a guess.

Thank you! I have been doing this by marking every line on the back of my squares. This is going to make my life so much easier.

Hi, My sister wants to start a quilt and I'm across the state. so I cant teach her in person. I'm going to direct her to this tutorial to get her started. I love that you gave such practical ideas that a beginner can use without going and purchasing more gadgets.

Why wouldn't you use the seam guide on a computerized machine???

Thank you. As a complete beginner I found this very helpful.
Because of t he magnet. Maybe it wouldn't affect the computer, but maybe it would.

Do you have a 3" x 5" index card? The distance between those two lines is exactly 1/4 inch.
