  • @anarcrustie

    provide some examples of such.

  • @SyndicalistTimes racism, sexism, homophobia are inadvertently woven into most revolutionary leftist politics. it is abundantly clear in the marxist system of history especially. revolutionaries have long envisioned the working class as a homogeneous subject, a straight white man.

"unity" is a bad idea, a fascistic idea even. we don't need to downplay our differences, this just protects internalized oppression. strategically we need harmony, co-ordination, but not unity.

  • @anarcrustie

they are the only racists who weave their racism into their politics and enforce it with violence. I'm not sure why you think class unity is racist or patriarchal, it's quite the opposite.

Class is the most important factor in building a working revolution, because it is the ruling class who must be challenged and overthrown, which cannot happen without class unity. They've got us broken and divided though, and the fascists are the most glaring product of this.

  • @SyndicalistTimes i agree. but fascists aren't the only racists. i say again, proles can be oppressive, anarchists can be oppressive.

the notion that the working class could be "unified" as a homogeneous group, that once we start fighting the class war all other oppression becomes unimportant, is itself racist and patriarchal.

  • @anarcrustie

fascists cannot be reasoned with. They must be crushed.

  • @SyndicalistTimes solidarity doesn't mean unity. real solidarity means recognizing our differences, fighting internal oppressions.

proles can be racist, sexist, and homophobic, until we work out these divisions within our classes they will cripple attempts at revolt with internal conflict, and if we succeed we will produce new oppression.

  • @anarcrustie

there will be no revolution without class solidarity.

  • @SyndicalistTimes unified working class? check yr privilege yo,there are many working classes and many oppressions within the working class. to really confront oppression we need many separate anti-oppressive initiatives by specifically people of colour, or womyn or queer folks or whatever, not a homogeneous "working class".

  • EDL needs stamping out, not by the state (the state loves them really), but by the unified working class.
