PHR Electric Cylinder Player, working with a brown wax cylinder record

By switching to the appropriate stylus, the Passive High-Rise can play almost any groove thread as there is no tracking force applied to the cylinder.

This is an 1897/98 Columbia brown wax cylinder record, played with doorknob stylus. These styli are usually found on Model C reproducers and should not be used acoustically. However, they are very gentle and provide a high quality output with the use of light-weight electric devices as this one.

@rweerakkody4565 It's a regular moving coil cartridge, wired for vertical pickup. A crystal pickup could work too but would require a weight of at least 10 grams. A magnetic pickup is way more gentle.

Yes, there is a final PHR player version in production to be ready within the next months. This one is a working prototype and the final version will look much nicer.

How many grams does the tonearm weigh?

The arm itself weighs approx. 13g while usually working at a tracking force not exceeding 5g.
