Billy Crystal was originally approached by Pixar to provide the voice of Buzz Lightyear in 'Toy Story' (1995). He turned that offer down.
However, they wanted him so badly for the movie, they took lines from 'When Harry Met Sally' and animated them. Here's the result.

  • Heh, guess he realized his mistake and took on Monsters, Inc.

  • This makes me appreciate Tim Allen.

I heard (from Wikipedia) that Billy Crystal regretted not accepting the role of Buzz, thus quickly jumped on board for Monsters Inc., which I will admit, was a good call.

  • Lovin' the red suit, Buzz. ;D

  • I say that Tim Allen still makes his voice work the most. I don't know how the "imma rael space ranger" plot would turn out with Crystal's voice.

  • billy crystal would have been a hilarious voice for buzz!

  • @PrettyTigerlilly pretty sure this is from When Harry met Sally

  • @PrettyTigerlilly isnt it form when harry met sally?

  • Tim Allen was a far better choice.

  • This is mesmerizing. I want to watch this at least eighty more times.

  • No, this is fake. That line is from the movie "City Slickers", you can even hear Bruno Kirby, the co-star talking at the end. LOL!
