Jobaria, a long-necked dinosaur discovered in the Sahara Desert, was assembled in the center court at CherryVale Mall and it can be seen through May 15.

It's a promotion for "Giants: African Dinosaurs," a traveling exhibit that will be in the new space that joins the Burpee Museum of Natural History and Discovery Center Museum in Rockford from Feb. 19 through May 15. GIANTS is an interactive dinosaur experience from Project Exploration. For the first time, the groundbreaking dinosaur discoveries of Africa are gathered together in one exhibit.

  • I got 2 questions:

    1. Is this a museum and mall at the same time?

    2. Besides Jobaria, what other dinosaurs do they have?

  • @MikeD57s thanks for the questions. This adult Jobaria was actually too tall to have at the museum so Burpee decided to assemble it in the Cherryvale Mall to promote the Giants exhibit. This is a traveling exhibit currently at the Burpee Museum with about 8 dinosaurs and they have plenty of other dinosaurs in the rest of the museum - check out ww.burpee.org for more info and the facebook page for photos
