  • You can see at 00.18 that the pianist was enjoying the performance too!

  • The kid who plays Herr von Stieglitz is great. With his outfit, penciled-in-moustache, and mannerisms, no wonder Mitzi can't stand him. Bravo, kids, all!

  • REALMENTE GENAIL !!!!

  • At 0:17, when the audience laughed, I think the shoemaker said "Ganbatte ne!" basically "good luck" or "do your best" in Japanese. I didn't notice it right away, then I wondered why they laughed when they aren't using Japanese.

  • Around this time another Strauss operetta was included in the WSK repertoire, "Wiener Leben." This one also had a marching sequence which (when I first saw the operetta) utilized the "Entrance March" from "The Gypsy Baron." In subsequent performances of "Wiener Leben" was the "Radetzky March" used.

If anybody could post "Wiener Leben" that would be so wonderful!

  • Hilarious marching sequence at the end - don't miss it!
