It's not a rotary, but a radial: on a rotary, the cylinder turns (like the French "Gnome","Clerget" or "Le Rhone" ww1 aircraft engines).The consumption from this Rotec 2800 radial is ~18liters/hour on a aircraft...

I know nothing about rotary engines and their efficiency, but I'm surprised he made it to the end without running out of fuel after looking at the size of the fuel tank. Too cool though. Gorgeous bike.

that started out here in Australia as an engine for radio controlled model aircraft,then they built them for full size planes,around 200hp i think.

there are only two gears on this bike. the whole thing was done in second.

Youre partialy correct,yes it was only second gear that the bike ran in, however it has a commercaly avalible six speed trans
