On June 7th, 2011 our team with YWAM Pittsburgh continued in our series of outreaches to a local refugee community in Pittsburgh.
Prospect Park is a housing complex that is located near Baldwin and Whitehall. It houses people from all over the world, people from Liberia, Nepal, Nigeria, Ghana, Bataan, Thailand, Kenya, Turkey Russia, Bosnia, Myanmar, and India. This means that there are numerous religions here anything from Islam to Christianity and everything in between. Even though there are so many religions and nationalities the people here are really open and willing to listen. The overall first reaction when you meet the people besides being open and willing to listen is that they are really friendly and relationship oriented people. Instead of letting you stand outside in the rain when doing door to door like most Americans, some opened their homes to complete strangers and let us inside to sit and talk with them.
