What worked with the Archie/Mike chemistry is, Archie was uneducated but experienced in life. Mike was educated, but inexperienced. And both were opinionated blowhards. Of course, all the elements in this show were necessary for it to work as it did, but what Mike lacked Archie had, and what Archie lacked, Mike had. And all the actors, without exception, were tremendously talented.
