From the archives at Slade In England.
Finally, the triumvirate is complete...ignore the watermark....instead put pressure on those that can get this properly to contact Historic films inc in the States who now own the rights to have it made available for us all......
Slade in 1973, were the biggest band in the universe...or so it seemed to those of us who cared. Supported by the dire Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Slade plated a couple of shows at London's then premier venue Earls Court.
It was all captured on film and criminally allowed to turn to dust.
These 3 tracks, sent in the post to the good ol' US of A (and subsequently stored correctly) are all that is believed to remain of the band at their most popular.....not their best..but for sure, most popular.....enjoy.

  • Someone mentioned Alex dislike for Slade which is totally untrue. Nod and he sneaked backstage before the show to peak at the arena filling up with the fans. There was jealousy of their fame at the time.At home they were outselling Bowie, Bolan, etc. But their working class roots did them no favors with most of the music press. Slades shows were sweaty, electric and very very loud and thats really all a rock gig should be. i aint seen em since 83 and I still luv em just as much today a bak then.

  • @95thFoot Noddys voice ragged?........how d'u work that one out then?......

  • Even with Noddy's voice a little bit ragged, Slade still sound better than most bands of the day- or now, for that matter.

  • Fantastic stuff. I was at this show. It brings back fabulous memories of my then 14 year old self. Bless you. Can't agree with SAHB being dire though. Fucking fantastic band and they had just released 'Framed', which is a thing of wonder.

  • @paintedship I got it and I think its too little real live performances on it

  • @ACDCFan15Swe the dvd that's out best of slade I think it's called is pretty good

  • @billyconnearly I heard a story that Alex Harvey pissed in a water gun and shot Slade with it. I don't think they got along too well.

  • @billyconnearly

That is exactly how the ten year old me saw it.

I went to see Slade but I remember nothing of their performance.

All I recall was Alex and Zal

  • @billyconnearly SLADE > ALEX HARVEY BAND NO MISTAKE ABOUT THAT

  • WOW.......I knew back then in '73 that this concert had been filmed.....I've wondered for YEARS what had happened to the footage.......really wish I could see the whole concert....I was 13......Slade were at their PEAK of success in the UK.....I was obsessed with them and continue being a fan today at 51..!!!!!!!.......long live SLADE....
