One of Toronto's fastest-growing and diverse music promoters, Jay Cleary's NuFunk.ca, is thrilled to announce an exciting addition to Toronto's festival scene -- the 1st Annual Nujazz Festival, running November 13 to 15 at Revival, Supermarket and The Opera House. The amazing lineup embodies the spirit of nu-jazz, which is to bringing jazz into a modern context, by blending this essential improvisation-based art form with other styles like funk, soul, electronica and so much more. Headlining the festival are international nu-jazz heavyweights The Herbaliser Band and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. They're joined by some of the most exciting live acts from all across our country, including: Souljazz Orchestra, King Sunshine, Grand Analog, Planet Earth and The National Parcs. Rounding out the festival is a who's who of Canadian and local DJs who introduce us all to so many cutting-edge sounds and keep the city's scene moving into the future: The Footprints DJ crew (General Eclectic / Jason Palma & Stuart Li aka basicsoulunit), John Kong (Do Right!), More or Les (Hip Hop Karaoke / Never Forgive Action), Rollin' Cash (Hotpie Records), DJ Numeric (Never Forgive Action) and many more.
