This is my first try at uploading a wide screen video. It wasn't shot with a hi-def camera, but I hope it will stay in the wide format. It's of the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus singing "William's Song" from New World Waking, based on the true story of Carolyn Wagner and her son, William, who was constantly being beaten in school. Words and music by Steve Schalchlin. Arranged and conducted by Dr. Kathleen C. McGuire. Dec. 1, 2008. Davies Symphony Hall, San Francisco

  • Yes! It's a song about a triumph -- about how one mom can change everything. Be sure to find the video where the chorus meets Carolyn Wagner. I'll link it above.

  • I've always loved this song, and it's fun to see it sung by the choir. This song still makes me want to cry, and yet you can't help but smile because of the upbeat feel, and the feel of hope - and the feel of pure joy at this mom's courage and triumph!!

Keep up the WONDERFUL work, Steve!!!
