Hi guys, I will do a short vid soon showing detail of the finished Ipad mount soon, also, stay tuned for my vid on the workshop make-over (it will be a stunner).
Some facts. Perspex (Acrillic, plexiglass) used was 3mm (1/8th inch).
A hair dryer is hot enough to use as a heat gun.
Make sure your former is a little larger than the IPAD so it goes in/out easily.
Counter sink any mounting screws you use to support (don't want to scratch the Ipad).
And most of all,Have fun making it (a beer helps)

Great DIY project, I want to try it, I got perspex, plywood, drill, cutter,... Rats! No heat gun, any alternative?

Perspex is harder and more brittle than Poly (which has a higher scratch resistance) but unlike Poly, it is easy to form using heat. I use a heat gun to do this although a good hair dryer would probably suffice (don't let the girlfriend catch you pinching her dryer to do this).

I heated the perspex with a standard heat gun, usually available from any hardware store, and used a standard clamp to prevent the template and perspex former from moving while working it. remember not to heat the perspex up too much, just enough to allow it to be folded. It will also set faster in its new shape if you have a damp cool rag to wipe it with and cool it down faster.
