  • Why did you CBC run out? Did you have trouble finding a job in 6 months? So I can do the CBC and the apostille in my own state of Louisiana instead of Washington?

  • @Warhammer820 sorry for the late response to this, my CBC ran out because i got it early, but kept working in the USA and didn't go to korea till a while later, so i needed a new one. you need to get the federal CBC these days, state issues one doesn't cut it anymore.

  • Hello Sir, thank you for the information, I just have a quick question:

I am interested in teaching in South Korea however I have a couple speeding tickets and an underage drinking on my 'record', do you think this will ban me from teaching in South Korea? thanks for the video!

  • @dicksalad1122 I don't think any of that will "ban" you from teaching, but the prospective school would see it and either require an explanation, or pass you by for someone else. It costs some time and money but worth a shot if you're really interested in teaching overseas.

  • Yes, there is a new process. I just started this process myself, but still need to finish it. Here is what I know: The new background for American applicants is to get an FBI background check. Go to this site w w w *fbi* gov/about-us/cjis/background-checks --> the asterisks / stars are dots in the web address above. Can't do web addresses in comment section. Just follow the procedure. Fill out the application and payment form online then print them out. Also you need fingerprints done.

  • For anyone reading this now, the FBI Criminal Background Check needs to be a Nationwide, not State level check. Also, processing time is approximately 8 weeks.... (I am in the process and figuring it out)

  • @stephenworldwide alright, I'll give it a shot anyway. Thanks for the response man

  • In addition, I saw on the FAQ page for this that the FBI can also do the apostille at the same time. This sounds like a time saver. Didn't say how or how much so I called. They said it was free and to just write in the application that you need it apostilled and they will stamp it. No delay either. Note this in the "why you need this" section of the application. I would also recommend including a self addressed "stamped envelope to speed things along. I did a large envelope and two stamps.
