I should of made this video last year when I first started designing my slippers. Well, better late than never. Now, I am getting several questions if my slippers and boots can be worn outside. Well, with this silicone rubber added the answer is yes. There are other product similiar to this, just as long as it the product has a rubber base. There is a latex rubber product in liquid form that dries to a solid. But it has to be purchased for commerical use in larger volumes. My work isn't in any demand so, no need for that! LOL This isn't only for crochet, use on your knitted slippers, and socks and mittens! And and and and and...I am eliminating that word from my vocabulary!!! Maybe I was nervous or something! My Goodness!

  • Are you sure you don't want to charge folks for watching you put on the rubber?

  • @lisarayone Wow, it's not often to get a troubling question like yours! Yes I'm sure, besides this vid was posted almost 3 yrs ago it was an experiment to see how the product would overall work. With almost 7500 hits and only 2 dislikes, cant please all the people all the time and only some of the people some of the time. Thanks for Taking the Time to watch it! That was the point of posting the video!

  • Thank you so very much!!! I enjoy watching your videos and love the work that you create. I would like to know if I can make them boots using the knifty knitter loom? Thanks in advance

    Nichole

  • @sweetpooey, I have never made them using the knitter loom, actually I have never used a loom. These boots a sole is made first and then made from the bottom up and knitting is normally from the top down. I'm sorry I can't help you in that area. But Thanks for inquiring and the wonderful comment and compliment!

  • Hi Nequibah. waohhhh from me too. i was searching forever to find a suede sole for my knitted socks which i am mending forever the holes (as not sockwool used, but lovely wool which does not last as socks bottom) so I shall try it with silicon. thanks so much for posting

  • What is the name of the material you use to do the sole? Where I buy in the UK?

  • Great Idea and Great video!!!

  • INDIAN INKT is NOT for TATTOO'S! it's POISON!! if people here want a tattoo, please don't go poking in your skin with indian inkt! go to a tattoo artist, that has the right ink, and knows what he is doing!

A girl I know got very sick, when she made her own tattoo with indian ink (and it looked horrible to)

    Other wise nice tutorial

  • Have you ever done booties (for toddlers) with just little dots on this stuff for grip when walking on hard floors? Have you seen the baby socks with little dots or designs on the bottoms? I'm wondering if I could use it for that, instead of coating the whole bottom. But I'm planning on making some slippers as Christmas gifts for my mom and sisters...they are always going onto the carport in winter, and this would keep the yarn from getting frayed and dirty on the concrete. Thanks!

  • This is amazing! Thank you!
