This is a movie i've stitched together using footage from a 2 day trip in the Lake District.

We set off from Bowness Knott car park and our first Wainwright was Great Borne.. then on to Starling Dodd... We pitched tent on the slopes of Red Pike for the night, we had clear skies and the stars were out in full force.

On Day 2 we climbed Red Pike, High Stile, High Crag and we had a late lunch on the summit of Haystacks. We then made our way back down to the head of Ennerdale, past the Black Sail youth hostel and back to the car at Bowness Knott via the Forestry Track.

  • Great video - the pieces to camera were excellent

  • @martinianbrown Thanks for the nice comments, much appreciated. I wasn't sure if i'd put too many "pieces to camera" in this movie :-)

  • An area that fascinates me, thanks for posting.

  • @m1xzg That's a real coincidence! I'm in Cambridge too. Have you thought of belonging to the Cambridge University Hillwalking Club? It's open to all. I'm in it. You should give it a go.

  • @m1xzg Where do you live? I'm sure there is a local walking group where you can find similar minded people.

  • God I love it round there - the whole place just makes me feel happy. Was going to tackle Great Gable yesterday but our car broke down on the M6 at Lancaster and then again in Birker Fell. The valley between Wasdale Head and Seathwaite is just amazing. Spoilt for choice around there but I think Great Gable is a majestic monster and I want it ticking off my list of Wainwrights. Love your video. Thanks for sharing - given me a bit of an insight to the other valley beyond the Gables

  • its certainly is FAntastic for walking.. I love it !!
