This was my second nationals and my first major match as Master in SSP. The range at United States Shooting Academy was awesome, the best I've ever been to. The weather was great, no rain and comfortable temperatures. My goal going in was to finish high enough to get a plaque. I barely accomplished my goal, finishing 11th SSP MA (I was actually 12th, The Division champion get a seperate trophy which bumps everyone up a spot.)
I didn't feel that I shot a consistent match. I'd either have a slow time or lots of points down or both. I was trying to make sure I got my hits, but some of the props serving as hard cover ate a few of my bullets. It was a pretty difficult match with quite a few longer shots.
I really liked Stage 6. Got to shoot a suppressed Glock, plus I finished 3rd overall out of all the competitors. My worst stage was Stage 17 in the shoot house. I had a really slow time as a result of not programming the stage properly and was 9 points down on pretty close targets.
I had a lot of fun and am looking forward to next year.

  • You shot really well. Very fast target transitions especially on the long range shots. How long have you been shooting IDPA?

  • @chr103yod Thanks, I'm hoping to do better this year. I've been shooting IDPA for a little under 4 years.

  • what camera are you using on the hat ? I'm interested in finding a similar setup for IDPA/IPSC

  • @ThePanozRacer I used a Samsung SC_X300. Now I use a VHoldR Contour HD, which I like better.

  • Hi,

Great shooting! How did you make weight with the sp-01?

  • good job wonderful gun good shooter.

    Cz is the best.Spo1

  • missed the draw at 2:58

  • Very good video!! Good job!!

  • Looks great.

  • It looks like a few stages ignored "use cover if cover is available"? Two or three allowed you to stand in the middle of a doorway or window?

Also, more "search and destroy" stages than I'd expect from a Defensive perspective.

    Nice shooting.
