Bring it back. 37 years of pure brilliance from the writer Roy Clarke. Not forgetting the wonderful Peter Sallis who appeared in every single episode. Great unreplaceable program which could never be matched. Nothing even comes close.
The BBC are crazy. Where do they get the money in the first place? Yep,from us. But when it comes to what they show or what we want to watch, whose choice is that????
Google "Bring back last of the summer wine" and sign the petition if you agree.
Great theme tune

Thanks to whoever posted this, so relaxing especially after I've just been driving a double deck bus in Summer Wine country (316 route) Proud to say I was about a dozen episodes of LOTHSW playing a cameo role as a Bus Driver. The producer would ring the depot and ask for a bus and the best looking driver, unfortunately, she was on holiday so they sent me. Happy days and proud to have been part of it

@SawDocker yes, great writing, great characters, good times. It came to a natural end as Roy and the cast just got too old, bless 'em, for them to continue the high quality of the show with dignity. The practicalities of time got in the way. As a friend of mine says " I wish they had the technology to regress the age of Peter Sallis 25 years, them keep him alive at that age for a thousand!" He'd be the emperor of comedy!
Thanks for the banter!

@Skraboing649 A Great Writer with the ability to create new individual characters and good old fashioned sense of humour. Obviously Hurling down a Dale in a bath on wheels is something etched in all our minds. But there are so many more stories and laughs in there too. They kept the program alive as Brain Wilde Left and returned,oh,and left and returned. But who would have thought it would have survived after the great Bill Owen passed. But that is something it did, survived.

@SawDocker it had it's heyday, but as Roy Clarke himself has said, they were all getting too old and doddery, him included. They retired with dignity, or as much dignity as a show about hurtling down a dale in a bath on wheels for will alow :o)

I've always paid me TV licence and the only programme I really watched was Last of the summer wine, I've seen every episode (most several times thanks to GOLD) there's never been or will ever be a better show, I only hope that the Beeb do a U-turn and make some more. Till they do I'll be watch sky channel 110 for all the repeats of my favourite programme

i think thee should have played this and showed the people who was no longer alive from the show at the end would have been a fitting tribute

I've added subtitles. I've had to just try and write them from listening, so there may be mistakes, but hope you like them
