In part 1: Grim is angry with Fowler because he hasn't issued any firearms certificates in the last few years.
Back in the briefing room, the officers discuss television. Goody thinks that crime on TV is better than in real life, but Fowler disagrees. Then he gets a fax inviting Gasforth Police Station to take part in a documentary.

I just can't help admitting that British comedy is by far the best I've ever seen. Unfortunately in Germany we have a massive trade-off between building cars and developing a decent sense of humour!

Quite so, but as far as i'm concerned, a sense of humour is by far more important than a car, no matter how good it is. Relatively speaking, germans are paying too much attention on "my house, my car, my boat.
