In our weekend interactive segment, we tell your stories and, tonight we bring you the story of a 28 year old young man, who has spent close to five months now at the Kenyatta national hospital. Stanley kigondu is suffering from a rare ailment known as polymyositis a disease caused by inflammation of the muscles which results in weakness that can be severe: last week his sister Juliet kingondu wrote to us telling us the untold story of a disease whose management and treatment is critical yet unknown to many
I have this disease and was bed ridden for almost four months in German hospitals. The doctor who diagnosed my condition included plasma exchange as part of my treatment and by the fifth month, with physical therapy and exercise I am now walking . I am so much better than I was several months ago. Prayer and a positive attitude can work miracles.
