Due to the 25th anniversary of BMX at Cologne Jugendpark, the original
Haro Freestyle Team from the 80s will show one of their legendary shows
at the BMX Worlds from July 10th to 12th 2009.

From the minute the idea was born to bring back one of the greatest BMX Freestyle Show Teams of all time, we have been getting nothing but positive responds, very day this keeps getting better and better!

Thanks to the help of our friends Xavier Mendez from California, who has been sourcing original 80s bikes and gear and big time BMX collectors Brian Pelva from New Jersey and Mark Gray from New York that have opened up their treasure chest to supply all we need to fulfill our 1980s Haro Demo mission, were safe to say that this is going to be a real time travel!

The specification of the Bikes are 100 % original, Ron Brian and Dave will be riding the bike they rode over 20 years ago.

So all you BMX Old school lovers out there, its time to dig out your old BMX gear and dress up appropriate or this occasion.

  • Old ass Haro! LOL I got one of those!

  • Ron, great to see that Freestyle BMX is still alive and well! So many awesome memories from the 1980's. Rock on!

  • @oldsBMXer Once you learn how to ride with a coaster, you don't need/want a freewheel. Most coasters were built like crap, though, since the internals were the same parts as found in a $99 bike at Sears.

I used to ride at full speed, whip the rear around, and then roll back at the same speed for awhile, then pull up the rear wheel and ride on the front wheel backwards for 50 feet. That was major fun. Probably kill myself trying it today.

  • Wilkerson was/is always the man.

  • Yeah ron is the man, i met him at a few 2hip shows and he signed a few shirts (now lost) Acs sold a stand alone freecoaster you didnt need the RL osbourne hub to use it.

  • i thount ron wilkerson crasht on a head stomp for a mountin dew commershall when he went in to the lake in take 2

  • @dermotk5

I'm pretty sure these bikes have coaster brakes not freecoasters. You have the same benefit of not having to pedal backwards. By the wat the first freecoaster came out in 1988 or 89: the ACS RL hub. I know, because I have one which I bought at the time.
