Not knowing about your own roots shouldn't prevent someone from commenting about who is who, as long as you know the subject (unless if the person is a douchebag). I don't know whether I have any arabic roots or not, but I know a lot about race & genetics from years of watching BBC documentaries.

@beeingme96 Actually race and speaking a language aren't the same. Someone of western ancestry growing up in Taiwan, for example, will not be racially han chinese if they speak mandarin. It's the genetics that matters.
