a critique on one specific aspect of Richard Dawkins' documentary. Slanted and oversimplified view of Palestine and the Second Intifada.

  • There was not only an uproar internationally but within Israel itself, furious about the incident. Israeli parliament was aghast at the carnage that took place and actually dismissed Ariel Sharon from his post not for committing the massacre but for not having his troops take action to defend the enemy he had just defeated.

  • well, the Geneva convention (that Israel signed and ratified) says that Occupiers (i.e Israel) are responsible for civillians' safety (not any militant enemy).

As for the "uproar" that arose...

    - Israeli Parliament found Sharon RESPONSIBLE and DID NOTHING to punish him (left him in Parliament to later become PM)

    - the Phallange leader (who also went on protected by the Israelis) agreed to testify against Sharon 20 years later, and was mysteriously car-bombed days later

  • Ariel Sharon was removed from his post of Defense minister and nearly served jail time so I dont see how that's not a punishment.

And Elie Hobeika, the Phallange leader was a guerilla warlord for the Labanese Christian Milita.

  • When a government finds someone responsbile for a warcrime in which 2000+ ppl died, I don't really consider keeping a cushy seat in Parliament punishment...

Second, you're right about who Hobeikia was. He was also Sharon's closest ally in Lebanon. And in 1983, Israel directed all intl. blame towards Hobeika, clearing up any ambiguities about his involvement. The Arabs always knew of his part in the massacre. The fact is, Sharon gained the most benefit from his death. AND THIS ISN'T PROPAGANDA

  • Jews know that they are right

Muslims know that they are right

Buddists know that they are right

Christians ect ect ect Hindu's ect ect

What a load of crap ALL religions are

  • i know how unbelievably difficult it is to separate the topic of religion from Dawkins, but this is not about religious content. this is about his political bias and inaccuracy that came as a sidenote to his bigger picture

  • the violence in mexico over drugs is much worse than this religious nonsense in israel/palestine.

  • Self denial of it only makes you feel better, it doesnt change the truth

  • Saying that Ariel Sharon committed a mass slaughter as you do in the video as a reason for why the Muslims were mad, and if I hadnt called you out on it you would have let that skewed fabrication be, IS PROPAGANDA

Insinuating that Hobeikia was certainly killed by Israel and that they signed the geneva convention is propaganda.

Deleting posts where I counter your deception is...

It's contortion of the truth in order to sway others towards your own biases. That is by definition propaganda

  • There were many people who wanted him dead for an array of reasons. Once he came public about his role, he became a target for revenge throughout the country. Not to say Israel may not have had it's reasons for wanting him dead but there's many other candidates as well and there was no evidence as to who did it, so speculation isn't a viable enough means to point the blame directly at Israel.

Again, you spread hateful propaganda under the guise of reason

  • Ariel Sharon stood idle, not wanting to fight any longer and that is why he was discharged. Had he fought he would have had to hold back hordes of blood thirsty Lebanese Christians seeking justified revenge. It's fools like yourself that perpetuate the unnecessary hatred.
