While bowling in the PBA championship dbls match in June 1980 in Las Vegas at Showboat Lanes Marshall Holman was not happy with his ball reaction and kicked the housing off the foul light while on National TV. It earned him a pretty good fine and a 10 week suspension from the tour. His partner at the time was Mark Roth and looked like he wanted to go hide after it happened. Tommy Hudson and Pete Couture were bowling against them and Tommy went over to protest and a quick judgement call from Harry Golden ruled the housing was behind foul line so no foul. When Marshall has a seat Tommy pats him on the back to try to settle him a little bit even thou Marshall wasnt his partner.

  • Does anybody know if Marshal Holman is still bowling or even if he is still alive? I used to like watching him every Saturday afternoon.

  • Marshall was given a "Commissioner Exemption" into this weeks 1/18/09 event in Oregon and finshhed in t63 Marshall Holman, Medford, Ore., 2,654, $1,800 ....weird how 33rd place thru 63rd place all pay $1,800

  • hehehe, marshall looks so calm now on TV as a commentator. this video, plus the one when he covered his ears during applause while bowling against his partner, Mark Roth, is funny to see.

  • I loved the personality Holman had when bowling. It was great to see the raw emotion, you know how much he always wanted to win.

Although there are better ways of showing it than kicking the foul light... tsk tsk.

  • He destroyed equipment, but why is this a *ten* week suspension?

  • I thought I was the only one that kicked out a foul light...and I bucketed too...

  • @ShutupHollywood yes he lives In Medford,Oregon and bowls regulary at Lava Lanes

  • The foul-line equipment DESERVED it ! I saw what it was doing!

  • Maybe it was the gay haircut -_-

  • Holy Spectacles, Batman!!!

  • I love it when the chick in the croud calls my name! I don't remember that though.

  • Cotoure needs bigger glasses

  • @fullhouse41 As I said, "Away from the lanes, Holman was a pretty decent guy." If Holman was practicing, he was AT the lanes. He was concentrating on his practice session, and probably working out something in his delivery. He need not be in a tournament in order to be "at work", and for pro bowlers, any time they are on the lanes, they are at work. The PBA used to have rules, fining us for giving autographs while bowling a squad. GOOD RULE! They wanted us to focus on bowling our best.

  • @DeedsResearcher I beg to differ with you sir. Off the lanes he was an asshole too. A while back, my friend and his young son (8-9 yrs.old) went to a bowling center in south Jersey. The son asked if that was M.H. bowling down by the last few lanes. After walking down a bit, my friend said yes it is. His son asked to get his autograph, and dad said sure. When his son approached Holman and asked for his autograph, Holman said "Hey kid, I'm busy practicing". Holman was a disgrace to the sport.
