@DEFIANT71DEFIANT I agree with you! I live in the UK and police do use this to boost figures and generate income. By me they hide between parked cars and behind signs. The speed limit in a town is 30MPH, anything over and you get 3points and £60 fine. 12 points before a ban. 20MPH over and it's 5 points and £300-£400. 50-60MPH is a day in court, over 60MPH is a ban from weeks to months and heavy fine & 6-9points. Motorways are 70MPH, over 90=court, 100+ = ban&fine&points&costs of prosecution!!!

those laser rader are a thing of beauty. I was given the opportunity to use one in a speed trap in Saskatchewan.

i have no problem with speed traps in cities and towns, in fact i'd encourage it, especially around school and hospital zones. Its the highway and rural roads that bugs me. Speed limits in Canada are far to low to start with. Stop using it as a revenue collecter.

At least the ON government are reasonable with the fines. Here in Manitoba the fines are ridiculous.

Yes! The TP will keep me safe by making sure to ticket and harass the general public! My tax dollars hard at work! Never mind the pot holes and crackheads I have to dodge when driving downtown...

Not against the Police service, never had a speeding ticket. Just would like to see cops on the street in my neighbourhood instead of getting paid to sit in their mobile offices playing cowboys and Indians in traffic.

toronto cops and opp in general are way better then any cops in the states. has anyone heard that the government sells the rights to the revenue stream these radar traps create to this highest bidder? supposedly the bidder pays a lump sum up front the the gov then this bidder is entitled to the cash from the speeder.
