  • What happen with MPG? is risky for the engine? can you turn it on and off? sorry for the ignorance..

  • @brucenash

MPG is about the same. Depends on how hard you drive it.

Boosting your engine is always somewhat risky. However considering Stillen offers a supplimental drive-train warranty with it I would say you have little to fear short term.

No, you can't turn it on and off, it's driven by the accessory belt which is always in motion.

  • The 350Z started at 287HP in 2003, and ended it's run at 306HP in 2009 (Wikipedia). And remember those numbers are at the crank, subtract 15-20% for dyno compatible WHP.

  • HOW COME YOU DON'T HAVE A COLD AIR INTAKE..CAN YOU INSTALL ONE WITH THE SC OR IS IT BAD FOR THE ENGINE TO HAVE BOTH

  • It's not bad for the engine, however Stillen does not recommend it due to "excessive noise".

  • not gonna lie. really glad you posted this bc my decision was coming down to this vehicle or the Toyota tundra 5.7 V8. I wouldnt really need the v8 in the nissan, so im curious, is yours the v8 or v6 version and also, is it 2wd or 4wd. Sry, im full of questions. once you tacked the SC to your vehicle...did you have to change oil or fuel type. Is the SC a nissan/nismo product...the reason i ask is bc dealers get iffy about non-endorsed additions to a vehicle. Has your mpg decreased significantly

  • It's Nissan's VQ40 aluminum block V6, basically a stroked 350Z motor.

My truck is 4wd, (not 2wd or AWD).

When stock it will work okay on 87 but recommends 91 for "optimal performance". With the SC it requires 91, though there is a cabin mounted switch to go into 'bad fuel' mode and retard the timing.

The SC is a product from Stillen, and it comes with a powertrain warranty to augment the voided warranty from Nissan.

MPG decreased purely because it's so much more fun to use the go peddle :-D

  • @archinuk417 what aftermarket parts?

  • Yeahhh sounds awesome but it doesnt give enough horsepower for what it is. Im almost at 295hp with a few aftermarket parts.

  • haha look at 1:22 he forgot to take off the vaccum hose at the rear of the manifold. but on a serious note. this supercharger is a weak unit. ask anyone who has one. 90 hp for 6 grand? i dont think so. i built a single turbo for my 05 xterra and it make 430 hp on the stock motor on 8 psi. check out my video showing it.

  • i just love this video. i alson a nissan pathfinder. how much does that thing cost?

  • Interesting that the same numbers can be achieved with a n/a manual

  • @DRTMaverick Nice. I can't believe I missed this comment. I'm excited about playing with this vehicle soon. So lighten up my 1998 and drop in the 3.5L DOHC to replace the 3.3 SOHC (the engine swap was already an idea). Should I do axle swap for offroading? I love the sierras.

  • doesnt pathfinder have same engine as 350z
