We All Live in a Yellow Organelle

A video we made for a biology project.

Every cell must have a brain
It is called the nucleus
Without it, the cell goes down the drain
Inside every nucleus
A nucleolus is sure to be found
It produces ribosomes
Which make proteins for each cell around
Each cell has a cell membrane that helps to
Regulate what goes in and out of the cell, too
But plant cells also have cell walls as well
To give extra support and to protect the cell
The mitochondrias change
Food to energy; quite an exchange
In both plants and animals
Only plant cells have the green chloroplasts
Photosynthesis-the plants think it's a blast
Vacuoles digest macromolecules
And they store stuff, too; both cells think they're cool
There's rough and smooth endoplasmic reticulum in both kinds of cells. Rough ER makes proteins, and smooth ER makes lipids and helps detoxify drugs
Golgi apparatus sorts
Packages that the cell must export
It's in plants and animals
Like the flagella that moves the cell
Lysosomes are never found in plant cells
They digest organelles and do their job quite well
Organizing the mitotic spindle
Goes to the centrioles; only animals cells
Plant cells do not have any cilia
That help with cell movement and sweep things past the cell
But both types of cells have cytoplasm
Fills up the cell and helps chemical reactions
*Awkward pause*
Every cell has a cytoskeleton
Microtubules help maintain the cell's shape
And then there are the microfilaments
For support and to help cytoplasmic movements
