The lyrics and translation of this song:

Pime (performed by Untsakad)

Öö pime ja paat lõikab vahutavat merd,
silmapiirilt kaob Eestimaa rand,
jälle kodumaa pinnal voolab vaenlaste verd,
keda peksmas on eestlaste väed.
Jälle kodumaa pinnal voolab vaenlaste verd,
keda peksmas on eestlaste väed.

Anna andeks kallis Eesti, et sust lahkuma pean,
kui kodurand sind iial ei näe,
õitseb sirel, tulen tagasi sa seda kindlalt näed,
annan sulle oma relvastatud käe.
Õitseb sirel, tulen tagasi sa seda kindlalt näed,
annan sulle oma relvastatud käe.

Vägev Taara, sa juhi soome sepa juurde meid,
sinna kust saab relvi ja nõu,
meie esiisad aastasadu käinud seda teed,
ei neid kohutand ei tormid ega veed.
Meie esiisad aastasadu käinud seda teed,
ei neid kohutand ei tormid ega veed.

Ei Eestimaa pinnal kasva võõra riigi taim,
ei kordu kahjuks iial Jüriöö.
Ei punalipud sini-musta-valget katta saa,
pooleli jäi Tasuja töö.
Ei punalipud sini-musta-valget katta saa,
pooleli jäi Tasuja töö.

Öö pime ja paat lõikab vahutavad merd,
silmapiirilt kaob Soomemaa rand,
jälle kodumaa pinnal voolab venelaste verd
keda peksmas on eestlaste väed.
Jälle kodumaa pinnal voolab venelaste verd
keda peksmas on eestlaste väed.

Dark

Dark night and the boat cuts foaming sea
The coast of Estonia disappears from horizon
On the soil of homeland the blood of enemies is flowing again
Who are beaten by Estonian troops
On the soil of homeland the blood of enemies is flowing again
Who are beaten by Estonian troops

Forgive me dear Estonia, that I have to leave you
If I don't see you, home shore, never again
When lilac blossoms, I'll come back, you'll see it certainly
I give you my armed hand
When lilac blossoms, I'll come back, you'll see it certainly
I give you my armed hand

Mighty Taara*, guide us to the Finnish blacksmith
There where you can get arms and advice
Our forefathers have yearhundreds gone that way
They weren't frightened by storms nor waters
Our forefathers have yearhundreds gone that way
They weren't frightened by storms nor waters

A plant of a foreign country doesn't grow on Estonian soil
Never unfortunately the St. George's Night** repeats itself
The red flags can't cover blue-black-white
The work of Tasuja*** is unfinished
The red flags can't cover blue-black-white
The work of Tasuja is unfinished

Dark night and the boat cuts foaming sea
The coast of Finland disappears from horizon
On the soil of homeland the blood of Russians is flowing again
Who are beaten by Estonian troops
On the soil of homeland the blood of Russians is flowing again
Who are beaten by Estonian troops

*Taara - ancient Estonian god, mentioned in chronicles, probably our variant of Scandinavian Thor
**St. George's Night - Jüriöö ülestõus - uprise of Estonians against Livonian order and the Danes 1343-1345
***Tasuja - character in Eduard Bornhöhe's book Tasuja about the St. George's Night. The name means 'avenger'.

  • @karuke01 yes, I can understand. Fortunately from 1991 Estonia is freedom too. Ciao. Estonia is a great country, I have seen it.....and Finland too.

  • @fabienik This was already too complicated story... It's impossible to explain it in a few sentences.

  • Thank you Estonia.! Keep the Nordic united

  • @kashakrus47 Kuradi tibla, kelle püksid sõelusid püüli Narva ja Sinimägede all! Ei ole olemas enam õiget venelast, ainult mingid poluvernikud.

  • @dimapez Ok it is true, but unfortunately Estonian couldn't avoid Soviet occupation....until 1991

  • or if you were asking about what happened after the war when Soviets were hunting the Estonian 'traitors' who had fought the soviets during the war, Soviets demanded us to hand over all the Estonian volunteers that were still in Finland/had fled the Soviets here, and we obeyed, exept for Navy which sent their Estonian volunteers (10% of personnel) to Sweden, at the time Sweden was also handing over Estonians to the Soviets, but none of those who had served in Finnish navy was ever handed over.

  • @fabienik your comment makes no sense, if you are asking why we didn't help Estonians to throw Russians out of Estonia, let's take a look when exactly did Russians advance to Estonia; at the very same time as Finland had it's hands full stopping a major offensive carried out by 1,5 million soviet soldiers, we sent the Estonian volunteers back when they requested it, we even let them take with them the equipment and weapons they used during their stay in Finnish army.

  • @Finland1965

    Brothers to the end!
