  • Is that why toyota invented VTEC and Honda had to buy it off them???? toyota call it VVTLI L standing for Lift.

A corolla compressor will kill a Type R and its still a 1.8

  • t sport did well considering the R's mods.

  • @vardymr2 other way round mate. honda invented vtec thats why it is called vtec!!! and a type r supercharged would eat a ts compressor. 2 points to make if you put a 04 tr v a 04 ts, type r wins. put a 02 tr v 02 ts, type r wins. also says type r has no ecu tuning doe the tsport? so all in all you can all wank over the tsport as much as you want but deep down you know you cannot compete with the type r, far more tuning options/mods. ever seen a tsport win a race? answer is no

  • @vardymr2 true .... so true! 1.8 and still kill a 2.0 or 2.4 vtec ;) vvtli 2zz power!!!!

  • @jbzEK9 A noob... Interesting. You spend all day playing video games, huh? Admit it.

  • @24okay

oh god, another stupid comment. You really don't know anything. Just keep ranting on like a noob.

  • @jbzEK9 Really? You must not have heard of Toyota's Beam Motor. Toyota too, had a N/A 200hp motor. Oh and guess what? It was also tuned and producing above that in the black top motor in the ALtezza. Go ahead and keep thinking Hondas are better. I just know the fastest Honda, couldn't beat the Fastest Toyota. I also know that Toyota has more sports over Honda. See, we can go back and fourth over tuning, but if it isn't from genuine manufactured parts, kinda defeats it, yes?

  • @vardymr2

Well, I think the real motive is people trying to prove toyota engines are better than Hondas in the naturally aspirated league. No 4cyl in the world comes close to the potent of honda 4clys. Theres a handful of N/A 4 cyl hondas running in the 9 sec 1/4mile. Fastest is 9.13sec. No turbos, No Nitrous.

In terms of FF cars, Honda Type Rs always slaughter any FF car from Toyota in Japan.

Sorry to say but, even the 1995 JDM EG6 civic SiR with the 170hp 1.6L is faster than this car.

  • @jbzEK9

Also i know for a fact Corolla TS are quicker than 8.2 to 60. Toyota dropped a bollock saying these times. When i owner my TS i raced a few Type r's which off the mark could never keep up with TS cos it had traction controll which TR dont. I now own a Accord type S 2.4 and i love it but i really think the TS are under rated cars and dont quote manafactures 0-60 times cos they mean shit, in the real world only a drag race will tell.

  • @jbzEK9

Honda's REV motorcycle engine employed on the Japanese market-only Honda CBR400F in 1983 provided a technology base for VTEC.

In 1986, Nissan developed their own form of VVT with the VG30DE(TT) engine for their MID4 Concept. Nissan chose to focus their NVCS (Nissan Valve-Timing Control System

The next step was taken in 1989 by Honda with the VTEC system.

  • @vardymr2

Thats such an uneducated thing to say. Google up who invented VTEC before you post up something like this. Honda was the first to mass market VTEC. vvtli is not the same as vtec.

The Corolla TS is rated 0-100km in 8.2sec

    1996-2000 integra type R 0-100km 6.7sec (also 1.8L but 200hp in japan, 193hp rest of the world)

Again, research before you embarass yourself. Newer 2.0L 6speed type Rs are much faster. You probally never had the chance to experienced a type R in your country.
