@pittsburghsports16 In 1811 the charter for the first central bank expired and a 5 year hiatus in central banking began. A period of runaway inflation I might add which inspired the charter of the 2nd central bank of America, which charter was signed by president Madison (yes, the oppposer!) After its charter ended the US again experienced high inflation, which was countered by president Jackson's order to accept only payment in bullion for federal lands...

@pittsburghsports16 Last time I checked the first US central bank was established by congres in 1791 as proposed by Alexander Hamilton (secretary of the treasury at the time) who in fact was one of the founding fathers... Jefferson and Madison (I'll grant you this) were opposed to it. So the founding fathers were not so much unanimous on this topic (they differed on many topics actually)...as you seem to suggest.
