There is a fallacy that all Africans live in desperate poverty. In Zambia unemployment levels are at about 85% and over 60% of the people live on less than $1 a day but as in any country there are also people who are relatively wealthy. This clip shows the Manda Hill Shopping Complex which is on the Great East Road in Lusaka.

  • I prefer the 'old' Manda Hill. The new version is 'fit for purpose' but lacks any charm. The car park at the front is an eye sore! I wish that they'd left the old complex and built the new mall at another location. Mostly I miss O'Hagan's! The new one at Woodlands is just not the same!!!

  • I'm russian but I lived 17 out of my 18 years in Zambia. It's my home, I love it. When I was leaving to study, I cried... I didn't want to leave that much! ... I still miss you Zambia!

  • I lived in Zambia for two years, from when I was 9 until I was 11. Those years were the best of my life. Canada is home, but nothing compares. Oh, Lusaka. I miss you so much.

  • But why cant u put a craft market on saturdays and a cinema. I love Manda Hill

  • This is how Manda Hill USED to look. They have completely renovated and expanded. Full Open this year, Dec 2010

  • @moneyi1

Zambians never cease to amaze me , i wonder why every politician is accused of being foreigner, i have been a year in zambia and i liked but what i hate most is a black politician accused of being foreigner and a white man in their cabinet and it goes on and on.

  • im zambian ive lived thare whee you are filming in woodlands lusaka and that shop is not that flash the clothes were expensive but locals use it as there is a local shoprte inside and a cheap gamesstore

  • Zambia Is very Rich if all Zambian can go back and start something up, AND PUT EVRYONE TO WORK. We have let the foreigner RUN OUR COUNTRY.
