A pictorial presentation of the Tradition that was handed down to us by our ancestors. This video is an effort to restore the essence of this celebration being undermined by "new" ideas that does not correspond to the sensibilities of a TRUE SON or DAUGHTER of our beloved hometown.
Sadly many residents of our hometown are indifferent to the situation. Many of them are afraid to antagonize those in authority especially in the Church at the expense of losing their identity as a community. Those in power resort to intimidation and threats to assert their authority.
MAY SAINT MARTHA LIBERATE US ONCE MORE FROM THE MONSTER THAT THE PEOPLE THEMSELVES CREATED, THAT SLOWLY EATS AWAY AT THE VERY CORE OF OUR EXISTENCE AS A COMMUNITY.

Very interesting to know the history of Santa Martha's yearly festival. The video's also very nice and very informative documentary of a median size town like Pateros. I like this video and am very proud of the town I grew-up. My parent used to raise duck there and in Kalawaan. Happy place to live in. Many thanks for posting/sharing.

CORRECTION
Ang andas ay hndi "tubog sa pilak". gawa ito sa "pinukpok na pilak" ayon kay G. Martin Tinio.
Ginawa ito noong 1903, hindi 1902, ayon kay Leopoldo Ortega, apo ni Don Marcelo.
