i spent 6 hours detecting in Coolgardie, found nothing, a few nails but nothing worth filming. did find a coin on a night detect on was home, a 1951 half penny. video is more a tour of the goldfields, a bit of night visions, a bit of driving vision and a glimpse or two of what the ground looks like. used three detectors that day as well. all make a appearance on the video.

  • i wondering whether to sell sd2100 minelab and buy the whites PI tdi pro detector. is a good pi detector for $2200 from victoria. am off on cruise for a 12 day holiday in october so might get to coolgardie in november again or maybe first week of october if possible. am off to geraldton with work on thursday so really all over the place

  • hi billy, yes would love you to come out for a hunt in gold area. i also have a good few coin areas to search on way. maybe we both go out to coolgardie for 2 or 3 days or so.

you should join the coolgardie gem club, this gives you access to a few leases and free camping in the lease. those pumping stations have heaps of coins from 1901 to 1950s as well

  • part of me so frustrated at no gold. i think i done now 30 hours of swinging for gold. part of me needs bicep surgery. they sore today partly due to work and partyly due to minelab. wondering if i should see minelab and get a better coin detector, frustrated at gold hunting with no results. patience, will give do a 2 or 3 day camping trip to goldfields next time

  • I was really hoping that you'd find the gold, especially as you didn't seem to want to call it a day. Mind you, it would be nice just to have half a chance to be able to search for gold, but here in the UK all the gold belongs to the crown, but the least I say about that, the better :P Well you got yourself a coin, which was better than nothing at all. I wish you better luck in hunting the next time you go outback :D

  • Hi jack - I really enjoyed the video only ever having been to Perth - lovely country at Spring - all the best for some gold next time perseverance must pay off!

  • Great vid JackTreasure, non-stop action and a great look around the W.A. goldfields. And a halfpenny in the dark LOL. Hope you pick up some yellow on your next trip out mate. Happy prospecting.

  • Thanks for going to the effort of getting the camera out and documenting your trip and then sharing with us all. I loved the vision of Emu Hill land the surrounds - great Aussie bush. Then to top it off - the night vision - complete with torch. Awesome find that Half Penny - well done. Gold for you next time. Cheers GL & HH
