As developer of the IS III mod, I can say that the two mods are (or will be) really different, because on the unit development DMUC add a lot of units, which are (in majority) based on the original units, however with Imperial Splendour you will have totally new units, our goal is to replace the original (horrible) units in IS III. :)

If there is no auto-installer and launcher I'll be sticking with Darth Mod.

@TheBrodykid I did not install the DarthMod, and the mod "Imperial Splendour III" is under construction.
So it's hard for me to compare and give my point of view. ;)
