@oddtreenow2 - A lawyer, doctor, teacher, carpenter, mum that happens to be homosexual is no less of a person than their heterosexual counterparts. Marriage is a great institution for cementing a loving union. You do not have to believe in God to marry, you can be infertile and marry, you can be a divorcee and marry. Marriages & families come in all different forms (single parents, gay parents, etc, etc). Gay people marrying will not destroy the straight marriage or the 'fabric of society'.

@Demugokun Most atheists are Bible literate, and most "deeply religious" folks are not.
Go figure!
For the same reason the Bible Belt is home to the WORST domestic stability. They have the highest divorce rate, teen pregnancies, child abuse, incest, even highest abortion rates!
The best statistics come from Massachusetts, the State where gay marriage has been legal for 6 years.
Hypocrites have a lousy track record. The proof is in the numbers! Bible beaters SUCK at setting good examples!

The recent endorsement party starring Sarah "drill baby drill" Palin, where the guest of honor McCain sat quietly in the back, shows that McCain has been reduced to the role of Professor Unrat toward the end of the film "The Blue Angel".
War hero or not, McCain has always been an advocate for the right at the expense of the working class. His opposition to military personnel receiving a more decent wage and better retirement benefits also put in question his support of the troops. HYPOCRITE!
