Having been assembled we now take a quick gander at the woinders that will come of its use.

My son and I will be doing a series of video tutorial on the use and abuse of the CARDIAC over the course of the summer.

There is a Facebook group for this devices for those who are also hopelessly infected with a need to use it. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=48856186627

  • You do the arithmetic yourself. What Cardiac did (including start my career) was introduce the concepts of instruction sets, step-by-step execution, memory store, registers, branching, absolute addressing, and (if memory serves) relative addressing. Seeing these fundamental steps completely demystified computers (for me) at the logical level. Later, building a few basic logic circuits from parts and a book at Radio Shack demystified them at the harware level.

  • I've been seeing these mentioned online recently but had no clue what on earth it was until now. thanks for clearing things up! I unfortunately still have no clue how the actual computation takes place. Any chance you'll be giving an example with real numbers so we can better understand it?
