its really not that bad is it?
Governmen is a fairly good system, and if you care enough then you have the ability to vote in/out its shapers, or put yourself up to be elected to become a lawmaker.
similarly if someone was so inclined you could already get a fair idea of my life and minds workings from accessing my Facebook, mobile phone, internet and buying patterns. Why is this something to be frightened of?

i'm serious, our perception of what is and what isn't freedom is based on our experiences from birth up until now.
even if having a chip would make our generation feel uncomfortable, for the next generation it would be normality.
an examples of such: the British window tax, where income was taxed on how many windows your house had, as people found declaring incomes an invasion of privacy. whereas we are now comfortable with it.
